NCC Overview

The NCC in India was formed under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It can be traced back to the “University Corps”, which was created under the Indian Defense Act 1917, with the objective to make up for the shortage in the Army. The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wing, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. NCC is the largest uniformed youth organization. Its motto is 'Unity and Discipline'. In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.

The objective of National Cadet Corps is to develop character, comradeship, and capacity for leadership among youth in India. NCC at SJJTU motivates the students with best training and the ideals of selfless service. The training inculcates team spirit, a sense of nationalism and it also helps in developing the overall personality of an individual.

Aims of NCC
  • To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.
  • To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.
  • To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.
Objectives of NCC
  • To fulfill the requirements expected in the latest socio-economic scenario in India.
  • To develop character, discipline, comradeship, secular outlook, ideals of selfless services and adventure spirits amongst large numbers of young citizens.
  • To create a pool of trained, organized and motivated youth with various leadership qualities in every walk of their life and serve the Nation irrespective of the career they choose.
  • To provide a sound environment conducive towards motivating large numbers of young people of India to join armed forces.
NCC Sub Unit at SJJTU

Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Chudela has taken a lead and joined the “National Cadet Corps” in the session 2020-21 to train its students to join the services as officers. SJJTU is a sub unit of 2 Raj Bn NCC Churu with 140 cadets (SD/SW) which presently include 69 boys and 31 girls enrolled cadets. National Cadet Corps offers ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates for Senior Division/Senior wing (SD/SW) cadets. Lt (Dr) Arun Kumar is the Associate NCC Officer of the NCC sub unit. The University has an NCC Office and separate parade ground, obstacle training & short range firing for cadets. Students have a choice to opt for NCC as a proficiency course in first year.

University strongly supports NCC training both financially and morally at the campus. While pursuing the course, NCC cadets undergo different training programs as Drill, Shooting, Physical fitness, map reading, First aid, Gliding/Flying, boat pulling, sailing, mountaineering, scuba diving and camp training covering basic military training in Army.
